MID YEAR CHECK IN

Hello Everyone!
Can you believe its already July 2026? This year is flying in!
I feel like I've spent the past year going around in circles with my business. At one point I was determined that I was closing down.
Fear not though, I gave myself a good shake and make a plan of action!

Do you know that feeling you get when something just isn’t right but you cant put your finger on it? That’s how I felt with Simply Cooper. I love designing and I love making but something just wasn’t working for me. I’d got myself in a right muddle with listings on Etsy and on the website and I didn’t know whether I was coming, going, upside down or right side up!
I decided to strip the business right back and basically begin from scratch – probably my worst idea to date when it comes to Etsy, but that’s been a hard lesson I’ve now learnt from.
I removed all listings on Etsy and on the website and decided a rebrand would be the way forward.

What does the business mean? What is it about? What does it show?

I’ve never really settled on a rebrand that I’ve actually liked so I knew I had to take my time to make sure this was going to be perfect.
The words that were consistently coming up were: Bright, Happy, Cheerful
and really? What is more Bright, Happy and more cheerful than rainbows?
I finally settled on a Logo which has a few variations for different uses, bright and cheerful colour scheme and the right typography… and then it was onto rebuilding.
I’m still rebuilding to this day – remember the Etsy lesson I learnt the hard way? Don’t delete listings that work and sell well – update them instead!!
I’ve went from having loads of orders per day to them coming through in dribs and drabs… all because I deleted my listings and started again. I lost all favourites, all reorders, all reviews... everything! My aim for 2026 on Etsy was to surpass 2000 sales went right out the window with that!

Instead, my aim now is to build and promote the website, get it looking top quality and ensure that as many of my products are on there as physically possible!

That being said, it’s a really hard job when you are a one-man band and sell over 300 card designs never mind all my other products! It’s so time consuming that I’ve given myself more than one migraine from being on the computer for too long – I expect there to be small mistakes here and there. If you come across one, there’s a form you can send me in the Contact Us page and please let me know!

Anyway, enough of me blabbering on, I need to get back to uploading listings!

I hope you are all enjoying this glorious weather were having!

Love,

Debbie xx

Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.
